Washington University School of Medicine is excited to welcome the newest fellows to its Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program beginning July 2025. These talented physicians bring a wealth of knowledge, a deep sense of compassion, and a commitment to advancing cancer care and research. Selected from a highly competitive applicant pool, they are ready to embrace the program’s longstanding tradition of excellence in clinical training, innovative research, and personalized patient care.
As they embark on this next phase of their careers, the fellows will collaborate with distinguished faculty, gaining invaluable experience in state-of-the-art treatments and groundbreaking discoveries that are shaping the future of hematology and oncology .
Kelsey Bria
- Kelsey completed her medical school at Chicago Medical School and then joined to Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU for residency. Kelsey has studied anticoagulant choices and their impact on venous thromboembolism.
- Fun Fact: Kelsey loves baseball and is a Minnesota twins fan and has a passion for musical theater.
Geneva Cunningham
- Geneva grew up in Brazil and completed her MD/PhD at Indiana University. She then joined the internal medicine program at Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU. She studied pharmacogenomic predictors of taxane neuropathy and is interested in the intersection of health care disparities and genomics.
- Fun Fact: Geneva was a competitive ballerina before pursuing a career in medicine. She enjoys staying active, cooking new recipes and creating artwork in her spare time.
Rebecca Cunningham
- Rebecca completed her PhD at Wash U before she went to SLU for medical school. She then joined the internal medicine program at Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU. She has studied the development of neural stem cells as they pertain to melanoma metastases.
- Fun Fact: In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys gardening and baking.
Ryan Gimple
- Ryan completed his undergraduate studies at Duke and his MD/PhD at Case Western before joining the internal medicine program at Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU for residency. He has an interest in glioblastoma and the impact of the microenvironment in brain tumors.
- Fun Fact: Ryan was a competitive swimmer and enjoys running.
Joseph Park
- Joseph completed his medical school and residency at Boston University. After residency, he has working in the laboratory to help develop novel therapies in multiple myeloma.
- Fun Fact: Joseph enjoys classical music and has served as an associate concertmaster for the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. He also enjoys playing tennis and playing with his two year old son.
Priyanka Pullakat
- Priyanka completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA, medical school at WashU before joining the internal medicine program at Massachusetts General Hospital. She has studied the impact of PET metabolism markers in lymphoma, cardiovascular outcomes in CLL and how novel combination in lymphoma perform in the real world.
- Fun Fact: Priyanka loves singing and performing music and exploring new restaurants.
Ryan Reyes
- Ryan completed his undergraduate degree from University of Arkansas, MD/PhD at UT San Antonio before coming to Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU for residency. He has an interest in mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy in GU malignancies, bladder cancer as well as in health care disparities as they pertain to outcomes in immunotherapy including in lung cancer.
- Fun Fact: Ryan is a long distance runner and has three boys. He has written about the experience of having children during training.
Sabrina Wilcox
- Sabrina completed her undergraduate degree at University of Wyoming, medical school at University of Washington-Wyoming and then joined the combined med/peds residency program at University of Michigan. She has an interest in medical education and has done work to study rare histiocytic malignancies.
- Fun Fact: Sabrina loves to hike, run and spend time with her husband who will be joining the WashU Pulmonary/Critical care program.
Max Yano
- Max completed his undergraduate degree from Princeton, MD/PhD at Ohio State before joining the internal medicine program at Barnes Jewish Hospital/WashU for residency. He has worked on the development of NK cellular therapy in hematologic malignancies, like CLL.
- Fun Fact: Max enjoys fly fishing and is an OSU football fan.
