Bio: I moved to Saint Louis in 2013 for WashU’s Medical Scientist Training Program and absolutely fell in love with the institution and city, both of which are notable for their sense of collegiality, collaboration, and passion for fostering work with the potential for sustained, positive impact in the lives of others. I also have both Saint Louis and WashU to thank for my marriage: I met the woman who would become my wife after a chance encounter in the flow cytometry core while we were both graduate students, then again several weeks later at the local church we (each unbeknownst to the other) had attended for multiple years. These days, my non-hospital life is full of renovation projects on our 100+ year-old fixer upper, exploring Saint Louis’s sneakily incredibly food scene, reading a good book with a glass of wine and my cats on our screened-in patio, and rewatching Ocean’s Eleven for the hundredth time. |
